Beat Saber is a virtual-reality (VR) rhythm game developed and published by the developers at Beat Games. The music of the game is represented by notes that have to be slashed with two sabers (the player's controllers) to the rhythm. It is currently available on Steam, PlayStation and Meta Quest.

Beat Saber was initially released on Steam in 2018 as an Early Access game before eventually getting a full release on 2019, releasing on PlayStation months after its launch and its parent company being acquired by Facebook's Oculus Studios divisions, giving it a release on the Meta Quest near 2020.

Beat Saber currently has over 240+ individual DLC packs, having collaborated with artists like Camellia and The Weeknd, singers like Britney Spears, Lizzo and Lady Gaga, bands like Metallica and many others to provide with numerous songs for people to enjoy.

Gameplay

Red and blue notes appear in the playfield, approaching towards the player. To progress through the song, notes must be slashed with one of the two sabers of the corresponding color using VR controllers.

Some notes are marked with arrows, which must be slashed in the correct direction according to the arrow, while some have dots instead, which can be slashed in any direction.
