Polaris Chord (ポラリスコード) is a rhythm game developed by Konami's Bemani division, and distributed by Konami. The game had various location tests between September 8th 2023 and December 24th of 2023. It released in arcades in Japan on March 27th, 2024.
Gameplay
General gameplay consists of notes falling down a large lane towards the bottom of the screen. Below the screen are large piano-style buttons which need to be pressed for normal tap notes, or held for long hold notes. These notes can be wider than one button, meaning you can hit these with whichever button falls within the width of the note as you like. Flick notes are an orange note with arrows on them, where you need to slide your hands over the buttons in the corresponding direction. Purple honeycomb notes can be hit by both a press or by sliding over them without starting at said note. Between the screen and piano notes are two large fades, the left one green and the right one red, which can be moved horizontally. These faders need to be moved in the correct direction when a line of arrows appears on the screen in the corresponding color. There is also a long hold note variant for the fader, where it needs to be held in said direction until the end of the hold note. The faders also have scratch notes, where the corresponding fader needs to be wiggled left and right for the duration of the note. There are no hold release timings by default, but there are specific hold notes where an arrow pointing up at the end appear, which do have hold release timings.
The game features a party system, where you can select one character as your main "Contender" and up to four other characters as your "Supporters". Selected characters will give various boost through their skills during gameplay. This can affect your scores or life gauge. If your life gauge has depleted during gameplay from missing too many notes, the gauge will no longer fill again for that chart. Characters need to be obtained through the gacha system.

Trivia
- The difficulty tiers of the charts go from Easy, Normal, Hard, Influence, to Polar. However on release, no song in the game had a Polar difficulty yet.
