Beatmania (ビートマニア) (styled as beatmania) is a rhythm game developed by Konami's Bemani division, and distributed by Konami, first released on December 10th 1997. It released under the name Beatstage in South-Korea and under the name HipHopMania in North America. Beatmania was one of the first arcade rhythm games to ever release in arcades.
Gameplay
Beatmania consists of a DJ turntable and five buttons staggered to each other. Notes fall down the lanes from the top and need to be hit corresponding to the buttons on the controller. Notes in the wide lane are hit by rotating the turntable. Notes consist of short notes and hold notes. When missing a note, you lose stamina. To clear a song, your stamina needs to be above 80% at the end of a song.
