Jubeat
Jubeat (ユビート) (styled as jubeat) is a rhythm game developed by Konami's Bemani division, and distributed by Konami. The game was first seen at location tests in Asia in December of 2007. It features multiple distinct slanted cubes as the frame of the arcade cabinet, on one of which the game is played. The game is e-amusement compatible.
Gameplay
Jubeat has a four by four grid of see-through buttons on top of a screen. The screen displays which buttons need to be hit along to the music. Tap notes fade in under the button which needs to be hit, while hold notes fade in with a line and arrow that closes in on the button that needs to be hit. Unlike other Bemani games, Jubeat has no health bar. Instead a grade of C or higher is needed clear a level.
Releases
Jubeat released under the name 乐动魔方 in China, meaning something along the lines of "Magical Cube". The online services for this Chinese version terminated services on April 29, 2014.[1]

Trivia
- Konami has tried to bring the arcade version to the west in 2008, a few years before the mobile Jukebeat app released. This version was titled "uBeat" and included various American-specific music licenses.[2][3]
- These licenses included "Sandstorm", "Barbie Girl", "Take on me", "Y.M.C.A." and "Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-ba-Dop-Bop)".
- The 2021 Jubeat mobile release is based on the 2020 Jubeat Arcade version, seen at the JAEPO (Japan Amusement Expo) 2020. The cab included a new design rework in white, bigger panels and 60FPS gameplay. It has not resurfaced since and is presumably cancelled.[4]
