Genre Rhythm Game

Lanota is a mobile rhythm game developed and published by Noxy Games, first released on July 13, 2016. It features a circular gameplay area that moves around the screen and a story mode with storybook-esque visuals.

Gameplay

Lanota's gameplay takes place in a circle known as a Notalium Tuner. Notes travel from the center and must be hit at the rim of the circle. There are four types of notes, known as click, catch, flick, and rail notes. Click notes require a singular tap as it reaches the rim. Catch and rail notes check for an input as it reaches the rim, regardless of if it was held or tapped. Rail notes must be held continuously until the beam ends for full points. Flick notes require the player to swipe a specific direction as it reaches the edge, indicated by its color and direction of arrow. Flick notes do not require a tap, only checking for a swipe.

Hitting a note perfectly gives a Harmony judgement. If a note is hit too early or late a Tune judgement is given, providing fewer score. Hitting much earlier or missing the note entirely gives a Fail judgement, and no score is given. Rails and catch notes only have Harmony and Fail judgements.

The player can select whether to play in Tune or Purify mode. Purify mode has a Purify Gauge, indicated by the color at the bottom of the screen. Fail judgements lower the gauge, while Harmony and Tune raise the gauge. If the gauge completely depletes, the song is failed. Hitting every note with Harmony or Tune judgements gives an All Combo, while hitting all notes with Harmony judgements gives a Perfect Purified.
