Project PERGEM stands for Playing Every Rhythm Game Ever Made. This project aims to try and make it possible to play at least one game in every rhythm game franchise ever released. The idea started with user Wsx and is what spawned this very wiki in early 2025. Even if the project is never completed, and that may be impossible according to some, at least this wiki serves as a way to celebrate the variety and full breadth of rhythm games.
The Original PERGEM Rules
- Only games where the rhythm game portion is the main component, or one of its main components, are counted.
- Very clear knock-offs, unreleased games and early access games do not count for the overall goal, but will be put in a separate category.
- To count as played, only 1 official iteration of the game in the franchise will need to be played, but every rhythm game in the franchise as a whole needs to be unearthed.
- If a rhythm game franchise has a spin-off series that is different in gameplay and still qualifies as a rhythm game, that one is counted as a separate game to play.
- If a rhythm game appears on multiple devices, but the gameplay is the same, it does not count as a separate game to play, but the rest will be listed still.
- If possible, I try to play at least 3 songs in the chosen iteration of the game.
- I will try to interview someone who is knowledgeable about the game/franchise (preferably a developer, high ranking player or well known community member) if I am not very knowledgeable about said game myself.
- Even when I am knowledgeable enough about a game, I will try to get more voices from others about a game.
- Make a database of every rhythm game that exists out there with at least some glossary information about said game, and preferably links where to play it.
