Sound Voltex (サウンド ボルテックス) (styled as SOUND VOLTEX) is a series of arcade rhythm games developed by Bemani and published by Konami. Location tests started on July 16, 2011. Since then it has been a mainstay in Bemani's arcade game lineup.
Gameplay
Sound Voltex gameplay involves notes falling down a 4 row lane. These need to be hit with the big white buttons on the cabinet. Overlapping the left two and right two lanes are orange notes, which need to be hit with the wide buttons below the main buttons. These notes can both be short and long notes. During gameplay a (by default) blue and pink laser appear, which need to be mimicked using the knobs, located above the main buttons. These can be turned slow for gradual laser movements, or spun fast for 90-degree lasers called slams. With the default mode, you slowly gain stamina while hitting notes. You need above 70% stamina to clear a song.

- During early development, Sound Voltex intially had gameplay with a different layout than we have now. It used to have three knobs, a single fader, two buttons on each side of the controller, and a big turntable in the middle.
