Spin Rhythm XD is a PC and console rhythm game developed and published by Super Spin Digital. The game released in Early Access on October 22, 2019 and fully released on March 14, 2023.
Gameplay
Spin Rhythm XD's gameplay features an angled lane of notes with a wheel at the bottom. The wheel's colors must be matched to incoming tap and match notes. Certain "spin" notes with arrows require flicking the wheel to the left, right, or back and forth. Beat notes, which stretch across the entire lane, do not depend on rotation and are entirely timing-based.
The game supports several different control schemes:
- On PC, a mouse can be used to rotate the wheel with clicks and keyboard keys used for hitting notes.
- Also PC-exclusive, a MIDI DJ turntable can be used to rotate the wheel, with buttons or wheel taps being set as certain actions.
- A controller can rotate the wheel with a joystick, either by pressing left or right or turning the stick on the edge.
- Controllers with a gyroscope can be used by tilting left/right to turn the wheel.
- On PC and PSVR2, the game can be played in a virtual reality mode. Tapping on the wheel controls it, while tapping outside is used to hit beat notes.
