DJMax (디제이맥스) (styled as DJMAX) is a rhythm game series by Neowiz (previously Pentavision) for various platforms. It is characterised by having options for multiple button amounts, charts made for standard game controllers, full size background animations, keysounding and options for infinite combo counting.

Gameplay

DJMax gameplay consists of either 4-key, 5-key, 6-key or 8-key button play. Some versions add side-lanes which need to be hit with extra buttons, technically adding 2 extra buttons to the selected key mode. Short notes and long hold notes fall down a track on the screen. A stamina bar exists that is filled at the start, and goes down on every miss. Reaching the end of the song automatically clears the song. In some modes you can infinitely gain combo, by chaining on the scored combos from previously played songs, until you miss.

Scoring

Accuracy based indicators in DJMax range from 0% to 100% (and 1%) in increments of 10. In most versions of the game, each percentage gives a set amout of points to the score. In DJMax Respect V it was halfway through the game's lifespan changed to a million style scoring system.
